Our Children

By sponsoring one of our children you are helping to provide access to a safe loving environment, nutritious food, clean water, medical & dental care and quality education.

Your sponsorship dollars are not eaten away by high administration costs as The Asha Foundation here in Australia is run by volunteers. When we travel to Nepal we do so at our own expense. In Nepal we have local Nepalis to staff the homes and run our office. They deliver the services to your sponsored children. These people are paid a reasonable wage and we also need to cover local expenses in running our organisation. The Asha Foundation is transparent about our expenses in Nepal and you can see detailed reports if you wish.

Unfortunately we cannot issue tax receipts for sponsorship as we do not qualify for Overseas Aid Gift Deduction as our work is recognised as WELFARE under the ATO/AusAID rulings.

Manisha - A very special girl

Unlike our other children, Manisha does have parents but they are very poor farmers and their daughter suffers from Spina Bifida. The Asha Foundation has with her parents approval been able to send her to school in Kathmandu as she has been identified as extremely intelligent, but of course this is expensive.
